Kathy Pelton Greyhound Adoption and Education Fund

Kathy Pelton with Jack and Jill

In honor of longtime greyhound advocate Kathy Pelton, we have created a special fund to promote greyhound adoption and humane education. Kathy gave presentations in schools, hosted outreach tables, volunteered at greyhound adoption centers, marched in parades, wrote letters to the editor, and rescued five greyhounds, including Jack and Jill pictured above.

One of the most important friendships that Kathy had in her fight for the greyhounds and in her personal battle against breast cancer was with Marilyn Varnberg. the leader of Greyhound Adoptions of Florida. They were united in their knowledge of the cruelty of dog racing and their determination to stop it.

Kathy also served as the Florida Director for GREY2K USA Worldwide and helped to pass injury reporting statewide and the Greyhound Protection Act of Seminole County. Her legacy lives on as the work to end dog racing continues in her state and across the globe.

All contributions to the Kathy Pelton Greyhound Adoption and Education Fund are tax-deductible and will be donated at the end of each year to one of the groups on our referral list.

If you'd like to pay by check or mail-in your donation, please print and complete our mail-in contribution form and send it to us at:
